Yolanda Wheat was elected Vice Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party in 2007.

Yolanda Wheat is a community activist and attorney in Kansas City. She currently serves on the Community Advisory Council of Union Station and the Kansas City Free Health Clinic. In 1996 President Clinton appointed Wheat to the National Credit Union Administration Board, where she went on to serve as chairman in 2001. Wheat’s husband is former Missouri Congressman Alan Wheat. JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - Several of Missouri’s top-ranking "super delegates" endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama last night after Obama proclaimed he had won the nomination.

The state Democratic Party said Obama picked up the support of Attorney General Jay Nixon, who is the party’s leading gubernatorial candidate, as well as that of Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, state party Chairman John Temporiti and Vice Chairwoman Yolanda Wheat. [2]
