NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee Democratic officials are hoping to pull the party together behind likely presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Gov. Phil Bredesen headlined a "unity event" at a Nashville restaurant on Wednesday to encourage supporters of Hillary Clinton to rally behind Obama.

Clinton won Tennessee's Democratic primary in February, but several superdelegates declined to make an endorsement until the result of the primary fight became clear.

Bredesen, state Democratic party chairman Gray Sasser and Inez Crutchfield, all Tennessee superdelegates, officially endorsed Obama's candidacy at the event.
